Inbetween Roman blinds custom-made | BALANCE Greige Studio

A refined greige tone in balance. Present, never dominant.

BALANCE Greige Studio is a custom-made inbetween Roman blind with a smooth surface with a natural flow and a refined greige finish. It filters daylight while providing gentle privacy, creating a calm, balanced atmosphere throughout the day.

Why choose BALANCE Roman blinds?

BALANCE softens daylight while offering a comfortable level of privacy. It reduces sharp contrasts and creates a more even, restful atmosphere, and the refined greige tone adds a modern calm without becoming dominant in the room.

Your room will feel:

  • Softer
  • More balanced
  • More connected

The clean horizontal folds combined with the smooth, calm texture create a refined, architectural appearance with a natural flow. This makes BALANCE Roman blinds a considered choice for living rooms, bedrooms, dining spaces and home offices.

BALANCE is part of the Alto Lume collection, our range of light-filtering fabrics.

How is BALANCE custom-made for your window?

Every Roman blind is produced specifically for your window dimensions. No standard sizes, no compromises. You give us the size, we make sure everything fits, down to the last pleat.

Made to measure for:

  • Living rooms
  • Bedrooms with soft privacy
  • Dining rooms
  • Home offices
  • Modern interiors
  • Calm, timeless interiors
  • Japandi and Scandinavian interiors

Material & craftsmanship

  • High-quality polyester designed to hold its shape at larger heights
  • Fairly coarse weave with a smooth flow
  • Light filtering level 2/5
  • Structure level 4/5

BALANCE is designed to fall evenly, without distraction. Minimal shrinkage and durable structure make it stable even at larger heights, especially important for taller Roman blinds.

Each Roman blind is carefully custom-made and finished with precision. The fold spacing, fabric alignment and bottom finish are tailored to create a calm, balanced result.

Height deserves attention.

Roman blind system

The operating system, supports and mounting components are included in the price.

  • Manual chain operation
  • Child safety chain tensioner included
  • 8 mm aluminium support rods on the back
  • 30 cm segment height
  • Anodised aluminium bottom bar, 25 x 5 mm
  • Suitable for wall or ceiling mounting
  • All required mounting materials included

The 8 mm aluminium support rods are our strongest option. They help the Roman blind stay stable and create clean, straight folds, even with wider or heavier fabrics.

The fabric is attached to the operating system with hook and loop tape. This creates a clean finish and lets you remove the fabric from the system when needed.

System dimensions

For standard sizes, the operating system including the supports measures approximately:

  • 4 cm high
  • 4 cm deep

For Roman blinds larger than 250 cm high and 300 cm wide, a reinforced operating system is used. This system measures approximately:

  • 7 cm high
  • 6 cm deep

The reinforced system gives extra stability for larger dimensions.

Operation

The Roman blind is operated manually with a chain. One side of the chain raises the blind, the other side lowers it.

Always operate the chain in the correct direction. Do not continue pulling once the Roman blind has reached its highest or lowest position. Pulling the chain through can cause the blind to hang unevenly.

The mechanism lets you position the Roman blind at different heights, giving you flexible control over daylight and privacy throughout the day.

Child safety

Make sure the bottom of the operating chain sits at least 150 cm above floor level, and install the supplied chain tensioner correctly. To reduce the risk of strangulation or entanglement, follow the installation instructions and use the supplied chain tensioner.

Lining options

A lining gives Roman blinds a fuller appearance, improves insulation and blocks more light.

A lining is never required. The fabric can also be used unlined for a lighter, more natural result.

The standard option in the product calculator is:

  • Blackout lining

Prefer a light filtering lining or another type? Contact us. In most cases, we can arrange this as a custom solution.

Crafted for balanced folds

Every Roman blind is produced with carefully calculated segment spacing. This helps the folds stay calm and evenly distributed, whether the blind is fully lowered or partially raised.

The 30 cm segments, aluminium support rods and weighted bottom bar together support a structured, balanced appearance.

Stack height

The amount of space the Roman blind takes up when fully raised varies by size, fabric thickness, lining and the total number of segments.

Because this differs per configuration, we do not use one standard stack height. For a precise indication based on your chosen size and fabric, contact us.

Soft acoustic effect

Thanks to its balanced fabric density, BALANCE helps to gently reduce echo in open or tall spaces.

Not heavy acoustic insulation, but a noticeable sense of calm in the room.

How is a Roman blind installed?

The Roman blind can be mounted against the wall or directly to the ceiling.

Always install the operating profile completely horizontal. Diagonal, sloped or tilted installation can cause uneven movement and premature wear.

Good to know

Some fabrics are naturally more prone to creasing after production, packaging or transport.

Roman blinds may need several days to fully settle into their final shape after installation. Lined Roman blinds may take a little more time before the folds become fully even and natural.

Let the fabric hang freely and operate the blind calmly during the first days. The fabric will gradually relax and the folds will become more balanced.

Maintenance

  • Dust regularly with a soft cloth

Measuring well is the foundation of curtains that fall beautifully and fit your space perfectly. Luckily, you don’t have to figure this out on your own.

We created a clear measuring guide that explains step by step how to measure the width and height of your curtains, including tips and examples.

→ View our measuring guide This way you can be sure your curtains will fit perfectly, from ceiling to floor.

→ Or book our measuring service measure service.

Subtract your desired chain-drop height from the mounting height of the blind.

For example: if the top of the blind sits at 400 cm and you want the chain to hang to 150 cm from the floor, the ideal chain length is 250 cm. Not sure? 150 cm from the floor is a comfortable default for most spaces, but it really depends on the mounting height (top of the curtain height).

Pick the color that blends best with your interior. The system itself is mostly hidden behind the fabric, but the operating chain remains visible, so choose a tone that feels right in your space.

A lining makes curtains fall fuller, improves insulation and blocks more light. It also gives your curtains a calmer and more luxurious look. However, it is never necessary.

At the moment we offer in above calculator our standard:

  • Blackout lining

Would you prefer a light filtering lining or another type of lining? Feel free to contact us. In many cases we can arrange this as custom work.

The product photo shows a Roman blind mounted inside the window frame, sitting
flush with the reveal for a clean, architectural look. This is the most common
choice and keeps the window's sight lines intact.

Mounting on the frame instead means the blind sits in front of the opening, with
the fabric extending slightly past the reveal edges. This is often the better
choice if full blackout matters, because no light strip can escape at the sides.
Order your Roman blind slightly wider than the opening for this option, and
choose exactly how much extra width feels right.

Both mounting positions use the same operating system, fabric and made-to-measure
precision. The choice is about the look you want and how strictly you want to
close out light at the edges.

Installing roman blinds is something you can do yourself with the right preparation. Every order includes an installation guide, and we also have a step-by-step guide online.
