Blackout Roman blinds custom-made | NOCTURNE Natural Brown
A natural brown in full darkness. Deep warmth, softly held.
NOCTURNE Natural Brown is a custom-made blackout Roman blind with a soft-touch blackout backing and a warm, natural brown finish. It blocks light completely while adding depth and warmth, creating a calm, intimate atmosphere in the room.
Why choose NOCTURNE Roman blinds?
NOCTURNE offers full blackout performance with a softer, more refined feel. It eliminates daylight while creating a warm, enveloping atmosphere, and the natural brown tone adds deep warmth to a room designed for rest.
Your room will feel:
- Darker
- Softer
- More intimate
The soft-touch blackout backing gives the fabric a refined presence, dense in performance yet gentle in appearance. This makes NOCTURNE Roman blinds a considered choice for bedrooms, media rooms and spaces where atmosphere and darkness come together.
NOCTURNE is part of the Alto Noir collection, our range of blackout fabrics.
How is NOCTURNE custom-made for your window?
Every Roman blind is produced specifically for your window dimensions. No standard sizes, no compromises. You give us the size, we make sure everything fits, down to the last pleat.
Made to measure for:
- Bedrooms
- Guest rooms
- Media rooms and home cinema
- Nurseries
- Home offices with screen work
- Boutique hotels and hospitality
- Spaces where atmosphere and darkness meet
Material & craftsmanship
- High-quality polyester with soft-touch blackout backing
- Fairly fine weave with a soft touch
- Blackout level 5/5
- Structure level 2/5
NOCTURNE is designed with a softer hand feel than traditional blackout fabrics. Dense in performance, gentle in appearance. Minimal shrinkage and durable structure make it stable even at larger heights.
Each Roman blind is carefully custom-made and finished with precision. The fold spacing, fabric alignment and bottom finish are tailored to create a calm, balanced result.
Height deserves attention.
Roman blind system
The operating system, supports and mounting components are included in the price.
- Manual chain operation
- Child safety chain tensioner included
- 8 mm aluminium support rods on the back
- 30 cm segment height
- Anodised aluminium bottom bar, 25 x 5 mm
- Suitable for wall or ceiling mounting
- All required mounting materials included
The 8 mm aluminium support rods are our strongest option. They help the Roman blind stay stable and create clean, straight folds, even with wider or heavier fabrics.
The fabric is attached to the operating system with hook and loop tape. This creates a clean finish and lets you remove the fabric from the system when needed.
System dimensions
For standard sizes, the operating system including the supports measures approximately:
- 4 cm high
- 4 cm deep
For Roman blinds larger than 250 cm high and 300 cm wide, a reinforced operating system is used. This system measures approximately:
- 7 cm high
- 6 cm deep
The reinforced system gives extra stability for larger dimensions.
Operation
The Roman blind is operated manually with a chain. One side of the chain raises the blind, the other side lowers it.
Always operate the chain in the correct direction. Do not continue pulling once the Roman blind has reached its highest or lowest position. Pulling the chain through can cause the blind to hang unevenly.
The mechanism lets you position the Roman blind at different heights, giving you flexible control over darkness and privacy throughout the day.
Child safety
Make sure the bottom of the operating chain sits at least 150 cm above floor level, and install the supplied chain tensioner correctly. To reduce the risk of strangulation or entanglement, follow the installation instructions and use the supplied chain tensioner.
Lining options
NOCTURNE already delivers full blackout performance on its own. A lining is not required for darkness.
For additional body, weight or acoustic benefit, an optional lining is available.
Prefer a specific type of lining? Contact us. In most cases, we can arrange this as a custom solution.
Crafted for balanced folds
Every Roman blind is produced with carefully calculated segment spacing. This helps the folds stay calm and evenly distributed, whether the blind is fully lowered or partially raised.
The 30 cm segments, aluminium support rods and weighted bottom bar together support a structured, balanced appearance.
Stack height
The amount of space the Roman blind takes up when fully raised varies by size, fabric thickness, lining and the total number of segments.
Because this differs per configuration, we do not use one standard stack height. For a precise indication based on your chosen size and fabric, contact us.
Acoustic effect
The dense blackout structure helps reduce both echo and external noise.
A quieter space. A deeper sense of calm.
How is a Roman blind installed?
The Roman blind can be mounted against the wall or directly to the ceiling.
Always install the operating profile completely horizontal. Diagonal, sloped or tilted installation can cause uneven movement and premature wear.
Prefer to leave it to us? Our installation service makes sure everything is mounted cleanly, precisely and ready to use.
Good to know
Some fabrics are naturally more prone to creasing after production, packaging or transport.
Roman blinds may need several days to fully settle into their final shape after installation.
Let the fabric hang freely and operate the blind calmly during the first days. The fabric will gradually relax and the folds will become more balanced.

Measuring well is the foundation of curtains that fall beautifully and fit your space perfectly. Luckily, you don’t have to figure this out on your own.

The pleat determines how your curtains fall, how much volume they have, and the overall look of your space. Calm and modern, or fuller and more classic.
Most chosen pleats:
- Wave pleat – modern, clean and calm
- Single pleat – subtle and timeless
- Double pleat – fuller and classically elegant
Important with a wave pleat
With wave curtains, it is important that there is enough space in front of and behind the curtain so the wave can fall properly.
Usually, you should allow for:
- ± 9 cm space in front of the curtain
- ± 9 cm space behind the curtain
Wave curtains also often require a specific wave rail to create the even wave pattern. We also offer these rails and help you choose the right rail.
→ View our rail selection guide
This way you can be sure your wave curtains will fall perfectly.
Not sure which pleat to choose?
We are happy to help you choose what works best for your fabric, rail and space.
How many curtain parts should you choose? The division determines how your curtains open and how they hang when opened. This has a big impact on the calm and balance in your space.
Most common divisions:
- 2 parts – opening left and right (most chosen)
- 1 part – opening to one side
LEFT 1 part → The curtain hangs on the left and you pull it open to the right.
RIGHT 1 part → The curtain hangs on the right and you pull it open to the left. - Multiple parts – for very wide windows
Important to know:
If you order 2 parts, you will always receive 2 equal parts.
Do you want an uneven division?
Then order two single panels. This way you can decide the proportions yourself.
Not sure about the right division?
We are happy to advise what works best for your window and space.
A lining makes curtains fall fuller, improves insulation and blocks more light. It also gives your curtains a calmer and more luxurious look. However, it is never necessary.
At the moment we offer in above calculator our standard:
- Blackout lining
Would you prefer a light filtering lining or another type of lining? Feel free to contact us. In many cases we can arrange this as custom work.
Installing curtains is possible to do yourself, but we are here to help.
We created an installation guide that explains step by step how to install the rail and hang the curtains.

Would you rather leave it to us?
We also offer an installation service. Our installers will professionally install the rails and curtains for you. This service is available at an additional cost and can be arranged during ordering or via contact.
